There's no denying the beauty of the Great North Woods. Lake of the Clouds, in Michigan's U.P., was about 50 miles from Pence. 700 feet above...but less than half a mile from...Lake Superior, it overlooks 48,000 acres of virgin forest, and was one of my favorite spots to show guests.
